5605 Full Steam After Jesus
(a.k.a. Steamer)
100% Registered
Fullblood Boer
I want
to thank Debbie Whittle for selling him to me at a discount for the
replacement of Tabasco Sauce (below). That sure was great, and
this is one good looking boy - even better than Tabasco, I think.
Unfortunately, the pictures don't do him justice.
He's very meaty, and very square, with good, strong legs and pasterns
both fore and back. He also has my preferred teat structure
(YEEEESSS!!!!! Yes, yes, yes, yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), which is four
clean teats. NOW, we should get that trait passed through the
herd in a hurry. There is very little that I can find wrong with
this boy's body structure. He even has near 100% pigmentation
under
the tail, and a beautiful roman nose. Only thing I think I'd
change would be to put a wee bit more angle in the hock. Muscle,
muscle,
muscle . . . can't wait to see his kids!

Fullblood Boer
It is with great regret that
I announce the passing of our fullblood boer buck. With so much
promise, and so much money spent, it really was a shame to lose this
fellow before a full breeding season. I did have 4 does bred to
him, though, so I'm keeping a few of his kids. The cause
of his death remains cloaked in mystery, as there was very little
warning, and only very tiny symptoms. Who knows???
Underneath all that fluff, he really was a big goat. I miss
him. He really was a sweet boy, and imo, very handsome.

Rheeses For Jesus
(a.k.a. Rheeses)
Almost 3/4 Boer
By 5605 Tabasco Sauce, out of Butternut
I was so very glad to get a
buck out of Butternut. She was the best of the does that was bred
to Tabasco Sauce, so now I've got some of his genetics to keep.
Rheeses has two clean teats and stands square at the corners - as thick
as a brick! Very impressive kid! His dam has done a great
job of mothering
and milking, with a nice udder structure as well.

Fullblood Kiko
I also reget to announce
that our kiko buck has passed away also. He was a decent size, as
were his various monthly
weighings. I actually did not seek out a kiko herdsire, but got
this boy as a trade. He's got some good genetics, which I planned
to use for one breeding, then sell to pay for winter feed. After
doing the trade, though, I changed my mind and decided to keep him
awhile longer - which, as you can see did not turn out. Unlike
Tabasco, Eli's death was known. He had a severe case of the
worms, and though he could stand and walk, could not raise himself from
a laying position. Thus it happened that while he was on the
mend, he fell over while having his head stuck through the bars of a
tomato cage and strangled himself by not being able to stand up and
relieve the pressure. It really was a shame.
Lone Buck
Herdsires
Buckley
(Deceased)
Buckley is very sweet, and
very tall. I would say he is the start of an attempt to get
faster maturing dairy goats. He's done a good years growth in
fine time. Buckley should have some really good milk producing
genes, and has produced many beautiful kids this year. We were
impressed, and quite sad to lose such a beautiful boy.
Rigel
Rigel is a pretty good buck.
He is
3/4 nubian and 1/4 alpine. His sire
is Campbell - 1/2 alpine, 1/2 nubian - and his mother is Rosemary, who is an excellent
milker. She is 100% nubian as far as we know,
though not registered. We have several of his half sisters as
well and some of his daughters. All of them are milking very
well, so we definitely know he's got the genes! Rigel is for
sale, so check him out on the Sale page.
